Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg was a Danish painter. He is regarded as the father of Danish painting and a key figure in the Golden Age of Danish art. Eckersberg studied under Jacques-Louis David in Paris and later became a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
